I think you'll need two adapters as well. One to mount a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" bay, and one to convert the smaller 2.5" IDE connector to the bigger type found in desktop PCs and a separate power plug.

As is normal for 2,5" drives, that SSD has a 44-pin PATA interface. It's a bit physically smaller than the regular 40-pin that is used in desktop computers. In order to connect that drive to a desktop computer you will need some form of converter. I'd suggest that you get a drive with a SATA interface instead, along with a SATA controller card if your computer does not already have SATA connectors.

Thanks for the tips! I'm replacing someone else's hard drive as their's just broke. I think I'll just skip the hassle of buying a new SSD and give them a spare mechanical drive I've got laying around. Thanks for the tips though!
