Major performance issues on enthusiast PC

At first I thought these problems were Flash-related, but now it's obvious that they happen everywhere, at least in Firefox. As I'm typing this up the text entry has paused and then flashed to what I've typed so far.

My specs:

- Intel Core i7 @ 3.8GHz
- nVidia GTX 285 (Overkill for Linux, but I game in Windows.)
- 6GB 1600MHz RAM
- 300GB VelociRaptor

This system should certainly not be lagging every 30 seconds while doing menial tasks like typing and scrolling. It also does it while playing Flash video. Memory usage is at 26.5%, CPU at under 3%, and it still happens regardless. I have the latest NVidia drivers installed. Any ideas?

Re: Major performance issues on enthusiast PC

Just performed a system upgrade and there were new nVidia drivers, I'll get back to this.

Re: Major performance issues on enthusiast PC

After a reboot things are looking a lot smoother, but that may just have been from getting a fresh start. Just tested on a HD video, definitely couldn't play those before.

Yeah sounds like an nvidia driver issue.  So you're 100 % now?
