Re: Cannot find boot device, cannot continue.

i use the archlinux-2009.02-core-i686.iso image.

:: usb drives drives...
attempt to access beyond end of device
sda2: rw=0, want=4, limit=2
EXT2-fs: unable to read suberblock
failed to mount /dev/sda2
failed to mount /dev/sda5
ERROR: cannont find boot device, cannot continue
falling back to interactive prompt

thats the part where it goes wrong as far as i figured

Re: Cannot find boot device, cannot continue.

I am getting this error as well using the archlinux-2009.02-core  64 bit iso image.

Same exact error

Something about a searching for SCSI sda device
Scanning boot...
Scanning cd...
Scannng USB...

'Cannot find boot device, cannot continue... Falling back to interactive prompt'

then I get a $ prompt, and cannot use keyboard, I have to manually push the power button to restart.

I'm booting from a Sansa Clip 4gb
Also, my computer has no optical drive...yet

Re: Cannot find boot device, cannot continue.

check your BIOS settings? not with my eee right now but i think there's a boot order and a drive order setting that could be out of whack.  either way, double checking those BIOS settings is good practice anyway.

Re: Cannot find boot device, cannot continue.

I changed the usbrelay to 15

I'm having the same issue installing to a CF card via USB card reader.  What exactly do you mean by that?

Re: Cannot find boot device, cannot continue.

When you start the live cd, in the grub, you press 'E' to edit the line, then you select the kernel .... line and press 'E' again, you will find in the middle of the line this option "usbrelay=5", change it to "usbrelay=15" and press 'ENTER'

then press 'B' to boot

it solved my problem
