As you probably know this driver version causes screen corruption and without:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
Option "Tiling" "false"
EndSectionu can't see anything upon starting X. I'm just curious why did it hit the extra repo and beside the garbled screen, even if u disable tiling in xorg.conf u get a big performance drop compared to 2.6.3-3...

The actual driver name is missing from your title.

I see your talking about xf86-video-intel. I'll fix it.

Yeah, sorry, xf86-video-intel...

Should be fixed with xf86-video-intel 2.6.3-4 in extra. If not, submit a bug report. While doing license rebuilds, I accidentally uploaded 2.7 in extra. Sorry about that.

FTR, it's a kernel bug so in a way, it would have made sense to have it in [extra]. kernel patching (patch is available) would have been necessary.

Thnx Snowman. It's not a problem for me, it is easily fixed with notiling option but it can be frustrating for someone that didn't test 2.7 driver b4 and after a pacman -Syu get a garbled screen. So IMHO I think it should stay in testing until 2.6.29.2 or 2.6.30 hits the repo. But it's on you guys to decide...

Hmm, I never had an issue with it. In fact, it solved a few problems I was having with the 2.6 series... Then again, I have a 965 and IIRC, the issue in question is limited to 945s, right?
