Swap problems after install[solved]

hello:

i do a new archlinux install ( i am new in archlinux ) using archlinux-2009.02-ftp-x86_64.img ( usb flash memory ) and was fine everything , in the partition section i do a auto-prepared and choose every default value ( 32 boot , 256 swap , 7.5 / , rest for /home ) but when i boot the swap was not possible to use , if i do swapon /dev/sdb2 ( swap partition ) say device busy , if i check with mount i don't see any swap part mount or anything mount using /dev/sdb2 , so i try mkswap /dev/sdb2 guessing that was not create properly but don't work , say the same thing "device busy".

AnyIdea about ?

thanks

Re: Swap problems after install[solved]

I don't know where the problem is, I just want to say that swap does never show in 'mount' output. You could see whether swap is used or not by running 'swapon -s', or generally it shows on memory usage: 'free'.

Re: Swap problems after install[solved]

yes forget me about this stupid post , the thing i saw failed in the boot was the system clock configuration and not the swap enable , i can't saw the swap mount because swap DONT NEED be MOUNT , i can't use mkswap and say that device is busy because is BUSY is already using it i check it using swap -s , really really sorry about this thanks all

No problem; btw you should add '[solved]' to the thread title when you solve the problem smile
