how to add existing package to new group ?

there is an existing package in the repository called libmeowth

i create a new group called teamrocket and i want to include libmeowth in this group

libmeowth does not know the existance of teamrocket and does not have teamrocket as a group

i see 3 solutions

call libmeowth maintainer to add my group to it - i dont think its the best

make an empty package called teamrocket-libmeowth. it is in teamtorcket and depends on libmeowth. best ?

maintain a copy of libmeowth as teamrocket-libmeowth in my own mirror

which is best ? do you suggest something else ?

Re: how to add existing package to new group ?

why are you wanting the libmeowth to be part of the group?  Is it a dependency of some other package in the teamrocket group? If so, can you not just list it as a dependency of that package?
