I guess subj is self explanatory. I know how to attach a file, but email, no clue

There's no such thing directly. You can either:
1) export the e-mail to a file and then attach it (then it'll be really as an attachment)
2) use reply or forward ... i guess you know what happens then.

Thanks bender02. That's the answer I was hoping not to get. That sucks.

Of course you can attach emails from within mutt Either forward it as an attachement (you may need to set mime_forward in .muttrc correctly - it's a quad-option, I use ask-yes), or just attach emails instead of files - use attach-mail function, I believe it is bound to 'A' by default.

Oh man, I guess there are still things in mutt I don't know about even after about 6 years of use
Thanks a lot! And I'm sorry for misinforming in the first place.

Gee I was just about to modify the Mutt wiki page to indicate it is not possible and refer to this thread as a reference... Good thing I checked that first. I will have to try this when I get home. Need to read more about key-binding.

Ok I can use Shift A then navigate to the email I want to attach. But then I do what? How do I select the desired emails? I don't get it.

Thanks brisbin33. I was about to give up and seek a GUI that uses maildir... It is indeed not that obvious.
