Is it possible to update my Intel video driver, without rebooting?
Or is it something like a kernel update, where a restart is much simpler? (It's a laptop, I just prefer not to restart if I don't have to.)

update it, then logout your user. xorg will be restarted that way and next logon you're already gonna be using the new driver.
