dvdrtools vs. totem

I've got totem installed. I want to create a DVD-R disc. I can't replace cdrtools with dvdrtools because of dependencies from totem through nautilus-cd-burner to cdrtools. WTF?  :? Is it safe to force this issue?

to be honest i would not even bother with dvdrtools. use dvd+rw-tools. it is far easier and alot more actively developed.
