texlive-lang issue with lscy.map

When I try to install texlive-lang group I have a lot of messages with errors regarding the file lscy.map, as below:

Where do I find this file? Doing

updmap --syncwithtrees

doesn't solve the problem

Re: texlive-lang issue with lscy.map

And what problem do you have, apart from these error messages?

By the way, that syncwithtrees should be run as root, and 'updmap-sys --syncwithtrees'

I'm no latex expert.... I'm just trying to get kernel documentions in pdf issuing "make pdfdocs" in a vanilla tree.
I installed all the packages regarding tex to do it, but it keep giving me errors:

Re: texlive-lang issue with lscy.map

A CTAN search reveals that lscy.map belongs to the ot2cyr CTAN package which is "A collection of LaTeX NFSS files, together with fontinst control files and metrics for Monotype New Times and Lucida Cyrillic."

I did not check, but this might probably belong to the texlive-langcyrillic package.
If you don't need cyrillic, you can try to remove this package.

To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

Re: texlive-lang issue with lscy.map

By the way, the error you're getting from 'make pdfdocs' has nothing to do with lcsy.map; and it looks to me like it has actually nothing to do with your texlive installation.

I tried it (make pdfdocs) and I'm getting the same error as you do. Moreover my texlive installation is fine, I use it everyday at work - although not pdfxmltex.

Re: texlive-lang issue with lscy.map

Humn.... I'm still getting the error in 'make pdfdocs'. Weird that a friend of mine made it in an ubuntu system and it works. Maybe it's missing some package.... i'll try do figure it out tomorrow.

thanks

Re: texlive-lang issue with lscy.map

I have the same problem, too. It seems to be an bug of texlive-langcyrillic which didn't contain lscy.map.
Execute
updmap --syncwithtrees
will generate ~/.texlive/texmf-config/web2c/updmap.cfg ,you should copy it to /usr/share/texmf-config/web2c and overwirte the older one.
This works,but i don't like it.Hope texlive-langcyrillic is working well.
