Looking for /dev/mixer
Some audio apps report that they can not find /dev/mixer.
I can't blame them -- I can not find it either. There is no such thing
in /dev. Is this an OSS legacy, a udev thing or ?
What device should I tell an app is the mixer?

An OSS legacy thing. Should be the snd-mixer-oss module - try to modprobe snd-pcm-oss.
