I've got bin32-adobe-air installed from the aur installed and as far as I can tell working...if I type adobe-air --help I get the help page. However if I got to a website such as the twhirl site or the bbc iplayer (beta) site to download the apps it says I don't have air, tries to install it and fails. I've even tried running firefox as root!
Any ideas?
edit: I just installed tweetdeck from the aur (changed the pkgbuild to be x86_64 and depend on bin32-adobe-air instead of adobe-air) and that runs fine But still no joy with the browser install apps like iplayer An alternative way to install iplayer would also be a good solution to my issue, as it's the only air app I care about.

I don't know how to fix your adobe air issues.
But if you want to download iplayer content have a look at http://linuxcentre.net/iplayer
It's legit, and you can only use it if you have a uk I.P. address for the bbc stuff .You can get stuff from iplayer, itv, ch4 and five. It's a script you run from the terminal, but my brother is using a web front end (see the link above for details).
Oh and there is a package in the AUR for it. http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/get_iplayer/
*EDIT*
You will need the package perl-libwww as well (well I did )

Thanks. I was aware of get_iplayer but not of it's recent additions in features. Being able to download the HD streams is great!
