Nepali Users Here

Hello Everybody. I am Archlinux user from Nepal. I need help to localize Archlinux according to the need of a typical Nepali user, such as support for nepali localization, SCIM input method and Nepali language support for Firefox and other programs. That's why I am here.

Re: Nepali Users Here

Doesn't nepali use Devanagari?  Devanagari is definitely available in unicode.

Re: Nepali Users Here

There is support for nepali language in arch linux. you can use archlinux and you can update offline. It's better than other linux distro.

Re: Nepali Users Here

Wow, this thread has been silent for a really long time. Any current Archers from Nepal? I remember viewing this thread when I just started out with Arch. So, I encourage any new Nepali Arch users to post any problem or experiences here.

Common guys. Its about time we made this thread active again.

Re: Nepali Users Here

@subash seem like you are using gnome-terminal, gnome terminal doesn't support post render correction or multi-byte encoding. you might want to checkout other terminals. although there is the old project to make gnome-terminal do so but its very very old and buggy.

== EDITED ==

which program is that? to get the bbc news feed.

== EDITED ==

Got it 'community/newsbeuter 2.9-5'

Re: Nepali Users Here

It worked in Konsole. But I want it working in either termite or urxvt . I had tried with xfce4-terminal, urxvt( compiled with unicode support) but still doesnot work.

Re: Nepali Users Here

I tried with a bunch of terminals, but couldn'dt get it to work. so, thanks for update.

Btw, the feeds don't contain much substance besides a link to the article itself. how do you read it? what url are you using? or any settings you gotta tweak on newsbeuter?

Thanks again.

Re: Nepali Users Here

Thanks man. I'll probably never open it after a couple of weeks. but it is cool thing. LOL

Btw, turns out emacs is great at rendering unicode. I tried it on multi-term and ansi-term, both available in melpa, both render characters perfectly.
