tv card and arch

I have got hold of an old system that has a tv card, cannot give you much info from card only know that it uses saa7134

Need to know how to get it working and how under Arch

managed to get a picture in xawtv but no sound looking into sox now... mixer dsp1 etc...

got a feeling its analogue card rather than dvb

Did You have saa7134-alsa module loaded?
Check lsmod output for saa7134_alsa.  My system do not load this module by default.

If You have this module loaded, find device with  arecord -l

right ok sound is the issue so .... will check it out thanks

modules are loaded saa7134_alsa etc... just got to get sound out somehow thats the main problem at the moment

wondered if its a setting in alsamixer or maybe run alsaconf?

/me goes looking

got card sound up, no sound so tried sox some things I found on the web... and it works [sort of!]

its not quite syncing atm but will keep tweaking
