Yesterday, I tried to update my system, but experienced some errors at the end, so nothing was installed. I did some reading and discovered that to fix the problem, I need to forcefully install xorg-server (pacman -Sf xorg-server). I did this and everything installed fine, but a new problem emerged. Now I can not connect to the internet. Apps like firefox and gFTP just hang, but pacman works fine.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Did I do something wrong? Do I need to configure xorg-server? My system runs fine, just no internet.

Xorg configuration should have nothing common with your connection.
What hangs? Application or connection?
Did you try to run them in terminal? What is the output?
