Hi All,
I've just set up a new Arch machine, and everything was going well until I tried to add yaourt using the 'easy install' option as detailed here:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Yaourt#Easy_Install
After adding the new repository to my /etc/pacman.conf every operation results in this error:
error: could not register 'archlinuxfr' database (unexpected system error)
Removing the line from /etc/pacman.conf has no effect.
I found this:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/12148
which seems to say there was a bug in pacman, it's been patched but anyone running into the bug before upgrading pacman has to manually remove something to get it owrking again?
Can anyone help me out?

Things seem to be working fine for me. Anything in the logs?

Can you post the complete output of "pacman -Syu --debug"

Ha, fixed it.
I'd commented out the repository line, but not the heading (the [archlinuxfr] bit)
removing both lines returned pacman to normal.
No idea why the problem occured in the first place though
