Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

Sorry folks but I just found a weeks supply of kdesupport and kdebase packages stuck in my PKGDEST area. It seems makepkg -i will not apply a -f (force) when updating local packages if there are any file conflicts so thanks to 1/2 dozen trivial image file conflicts these packages didn't make it into my binary repo. This might explain some problems with akonadi and taglib dependencies. 20090504 uploading now. Remember guys, I only use a few programs (kmail, kate, akregator) so most of the time I won't notice a problem like this unless someone posts a wtf message here.

FWIW the source packages are now hosted at http://github.com/markc/kde-svn/ so I'll remove the Google Code packages within a week. The mpkg build script and my eth-os packages (useless atm as they have rearranged) are at http://git.eth-os.org/. I've been meaning to move the source packages to Git for most of this year so GoogelCodes adoption of Mercurial finally motivated me to do it.

first: next builds of kdelibs will include this, and kdebase will compile properly then.
second: dunno, I don't use it and I don't index files , afaik the nepomuk server is running and the kioslave works

O.o

new development, considered necessary with multiple thumbnails now available in tooltips.

My folderview plasmoids no longer remember their size/position between sessions. Is anyone else experiencing this (on svn)? I just want to make sure it's not an old config file somewhere causing problems.

Yep. Last week nepomuk actually started to work properly for me for the first time ever ;-)

1. the crash is in KDE, they're trying to find it but need crash symbols. Maybe these svn packages should be build with debug on...
2. Weird, did  you try to remove configuration?
3. The network plasmoid is still under rather heavy development, this might be expected... But patches are most likely welcome big_smile

As I'm thinking of compiling with debugging symbols for a long time now I think I will start it now. So the next update of kde-stephan will include debugging symbols.

Greetings

Strange, look like some effects when are disabled (scalling) cause disabling all desktop dffects.

Also I notice that when I change in "Desktop theme details" theme from "Oxygen" to "Air" I cant apply this theme in any way.Anybody have similar problem ?

There is another thing in Power Managment. I just installed ConsoleKit but in "Capabilities" is a warning message that consolekit is not found. How to solve that ?

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

I have too some issues:

* I can't disable the Qt GUI effects:
In qtconfig you can enable GUI effects, like fade in animations for tooltips etc., for Qt applications. After installing qt-copy from markc's repo, these effects were enabled by default on my system. The problem is that these effects are a bit buggy, so I disable them. After rebooting these effects are again enabled...

* I can't find the Air theme ;-)
I installed kdeartwork, and all plasma relevant packages, but the Air theme is just not therE

Edit:

After installing todays updastes Air appeared...
I can apply it, although the theme screws up everything in a weird way...

Edit 2:

Please add "libdvdread" as dependency to extragear-multimedia, as k3b does not start without it:)

markc gently gives me git access for some simply tweaks to the i686 repo. The build is still in his charge.

A quick update on this issue:

I tried running qtconfig as root and even removing ~/.qt/qtrc completely, but both attempts did not help at all..

And a new issue:

I have huge locale problems with KDE apps:
First off, I can't change the language of an app through the help menu anymore. E.g. I installed the german translations from trunk(compiled them myself) and when I now switch the default language to German, the app will still be in English, even after logging out and in again. If I do §export KDE_LANG=de" applications that are started from the console work fine though. Apps that are started from e.g. the menu are still affected by this issue.

My other much more severe issue is: I can't display greek characters in kde apps like Dolphin, thus I cant access some of my folders anymore (with KDE apps), Accessing those folders with GTK apps like GIMP is no problem. My locales area also set correctly, as GTK apps work without any problem. KDE apps that are started with "KDE_LANG=de" are just affected by this issue, as apps that were started without it.

Does anyone else have some locale problems?

Thank you
