64-bit Live CD installation, "loading standard acpi modules" failure

I'm trying to install the Arch Linux 64-bit edition (archlinux-2009.02-ftp-x86_64.iso).

However I cannot even seem to get as far as the installer script. The CD loads to the menu, I select the "Live CD" option, text rolls by, gets to "loading standard acpi modules" ...then laptop reboots.

My laptop is 64-bit capable, and I don't think it's the CD itself since I downloaded the torrent and this is the third one I've tried (burnt x1 just to make sure!)

Any tips on how I might get past this in order to actually begin an installation?

Check your BIOS setup and make sure you don't have any "exotic" power-saving settings enabled.
