I'am currently using XBMC on my old Xbox but since there is only 64 MB RAM I want to build my new HTPC and off course I want to use Arch as my OS.
The goal is to have an operating system that boots really really fast.
So the question is from the original installation of Arch, can I optimize the startup speed any further?

I recently turned a dated p4 into an HTPC running arch + xbmc and it worked great, I also suggest the link provided above by EVRAMP.
