I have read that using a static udev, can speed up the boot process?
what are your thoughts on this?
and how do i go about this?

yes, got to stop making posts when i just woke up,
i ment how to use a static /dev so that less time is used on udev during the boot process, i have read about it . but i have never seen a how to of any kind.

I wrote a mini-sloppy guide here on the forums. In the link I just provided, I recommend scrolling up to read some of the previous things said, remember to backup up your work, and all the usual procedure.
Edit: But really, do what I recommend with just moving the stuff from /dev into a spot like /lib/udev/devices. It'll be a lot easier than doing mknod a bunch of times. Don't forget to remove udev from /etc/rc.sysinit otherwise it will be pointless.
