I would like to share the performance of google earth with intel drivers on two different laptops.
Lenovo 3000 N100 Laptop:
tested with xf86-video-intel and xf86-video-intel-legacy drivers and various accleration methods in xorg.conf. but the result is same ie
google earth loading and the globe display etc are in snail speed.
output of cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep model
model : 14
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T2350 @ 1.86GHz
model : 14
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T2350 @ 1.86GHz
output of lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
In acer with single processor and less speed google earth is working as intended without any glitch
here is the details of Acer laptop. Acer Travelmate LCi291
output of cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep model
model : 9
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1400MHz
output of lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)
In both laptops xorg.conf is more or less same but for the device, of course. Both laptops have the same WM / DE (openbox/LXDE]
If any one has solved the issue, giving the solution or pointing to the right direction is welcome :Da

Thanks, agapito, it improved the speed but not to the mark. The question is when a single cpu can do the things with atmosphere option enabled why not the dual core?
