texmaker cursor problem

After upgrading texmaker through pacman I am having a problem.  While using the program at first the program works flawlessly.  After a few edits the cursor disappears and I am no longer able to make any changes to my document.  Is this an error with the program or is just my machine?  thanks

EDIT: typo

Re: texmaker cursor problem

I believe it has something to do with Trolltech.conf. For me this problem occured after using qtconfig to alter the colorscheme i qt applications. After doing a "mv Trolltech.conf Trolltech.conf.bak" the problem went away.

EDIT: I downgraded and the problem still remains.  Must be something related to qt or something of the like.

Re: texmaker cursor problem

Trolltech.conf is located in ~/.config

Re: texmaker cursor problem

got it. However problem still remains.

EDIT: found a really dirty work around.  If I insert some symbol from the left hand side shortcut table the cursor appears again.

Re: texmaker cursor problem

i hope this gets fixed soon. i am using kile right now and i just do not like it or get used to it.  its clunky and cluttered.

Perhaps try lyx instead? I prefer it to texmaker, although it is not plain LaTeX it natively works on.
If you are accustomed to vim you may want try the latex-suite tools package.

Re: texmaker cursor problem

Same problem here.

Deleting ~/.config/Trolltech.conf  does not help.

It seemed to work for me, the problem is it comes back. The file gets recreated each time you hit save sad

Re: texmaker cursor problem

This latest version 1.8-2 seams to have solved the problem. In the "bugtracker" is said that the Texmaker developer is aware of this bug and trying to fix it for his next release, he was the one that suggested this temporary fix.
