Hi
I cant start KDM oder KDE, it shows me everytime the same message:
/usr/bin/kcheckrunning not found
/usr/bin/kstartupconfig4 not found
But i can see both in /usr/bin
Wtf is going on with the arch package quality?
kde 4.2 buggy
hal buggy
kernel26 (with dmraid) buggy

Are these "missing files" available in /usr/bin?
If thats the case, please check if you have anything related to KDE in /etc/profile.d... As KDE4 is in /usr now, there shouldnt be anything. If you find a file referring to KDE or an entry inside a file, please comment it out or move that file elsewhere... I guess your paths are messed up somehow.
Also, you could try to edit /usr/bin/startkde and replace all calls to these binaries with their full path, like
kstartupconfig4 -> /usr/bin/kstartupconfig4
want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod

I am also having this problem and I tried to do the steps above, but to no avail.
"kstartupconfig4 does not exist. The error code is 3. Please check your installation."
I am at a complete loss at what to do.
EDIT: kdemod works. Kde from Arch repos does not...
