mplayer remote
i love being able to control mpd remotely. is there a similar way to do it with mplayer?

mplayer should work with LIRC out of the box.

i was thinking of something more like mpc. something i could assign a key combo with. controlling from the n810 is my ultimate goal.

I don't know how you control your mpd, but I'm sure you will be able to glue things together - this is Linux.
