I am running Arch as a guest in VirtualBox OSE 2.1.4 (on Ubuntu 9.04). I have tried installing Guest Additions, first by manually mounting the iso and secondly using pacman. In both cases, the printout reported that GA was successfully installed.
However, the mouse is still captured & I can't share folders - which suggests to me that there is something missing.
I have googled and searched this and the VB forums and tried all of the obvious approaches: added the daemon, edited /etc/rc.conf and /etc/rc.local all to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem?

Try as a module.

HTH
BTW, right Ctrl frees your mouse from the VM window if that's what you're looking for. Or maybe you want seamless integration?

Thanks for the pointers Karol. I tried adding as a module, but it hasn't made any difference.
I was looking for seamless integration: I have Slackware 12.2 running in VB and the GA work brilliantly...
I am beginning to think that there is something fundamentally wrong with my xorg.conf. I may scrap this install and start again from scratch.
Cheers.

xorg has a couple issues you have to take care of + VirtualBox ontop of that ... Good luck :-)
Edit:

Thanks for the link Karol. I'll reinstall later this week and post the results.
Cheers
