I am connected to web via router to dsl-modem. In last Arch install I setup pppoe then pppoe-start which get me going. That was w/o router. Doing same now gets me connected. ifconfig shows eth0, lo and pppoe. ping google works.
But pacman --sync or Syu or -S python give connection error or time-out message or that if you're sure another database isn't running then rm /var/lib/pacman/dblck. Doing the rm and trying pacman again give same time out or fail to connect while trying to --sych.
Questions are(with router) how do I configure network or do I not config. network and just use pppoe as before. And how do I fix the pacman errors. Sorry but have been away from Arch for several years. Thanx.
