Hello again
as the topic tells, sudo cpufreq-set -g performance has absolutly no effect, I am stucked at 800mhz (cpufreq-info) although I loaded everything in rc.conf.
MODULES=(e1000e pcspkr snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-hwdep snd-page-alloc snd-pcm snd-timer snd snd-pcsp snd-hda-codec snd-hda-intel soundcore acpi-cpufreq cpufreq_ondemand cpufreq_powersave cpufreq_userspace).
Any ideas? It worked a few days ago when I set my box up but now it simply stoped working.

So, sudo cpufreq-info tells me I'm running at 2.53 and without sudo I'm running at 800mhz? Sorry for the german language output, my arch does it by default

I see that both outputs sais you are running at 2,53GHz

so whats the problem?

What is output if you try to use
sudo cpufreq-set -g performance

Sorry for the german language output, my arch does it by default

You can tell your terminal to output english texts by this line
export LANG=C
Afterwards it'll all be english

Well the problem is, why are 2 different core frequencies reported?
Would be fine to do the clock settings as user though...

tealson I do not know if we see different log, but could you tell me where in the log which you send here is the differentce showing that you are at 800MHz? (I just do not see reported two different frequencies)
you cou use
sudo visudo
and add there a line
%users ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/cpufreq-set
all the user with this line should get power to use "cpufreq-set" without running "sudo"

This is done by a normal user, the first output is 2.53, the second is 800mhz. This cannot be because both cores can only be clocked at the same speed!
ps: the output is still in german, sorry folks!

I had this problem when trying to set cpufreq to lower speed. Turns out that cpufreq-set -g governor sets only for one core (a bug or a feature?)
So I now use:
[root@lightbringer dheart]# cpufreq-set -g powersave -c 0
[root@lightbringer dheart]# cpufreq-set -g powersave -c 1
-c NUMBER represents the desired cpu.
You should try this.
