Hi all,
what currently bothers me is my crappy video performance. I can't look at youtube videos at fullscreen. For what I've read this is related to the poor flash plugin.
But I've problems with other videos, too. For example movie trailers. 480p is ok, sometimes laggy in fullscreen. Everything above is pain in the ***.
My system:
Sempron 3400+ (2Ghz)
2GB RAM
Nvidia 7600gt (nvidia 180.51-1)
I tried several players. The best one for me is gecko-mediaplayer. I don't use a xorg.conf - maybe I should for some options I'm missing for a better performance?
Thanks in advance!

You can try to change video output on video player, that can help...Youtube has turn off hw acceleration (I read somewhere...) and because of that full screen video is poor...but, flash plugin can be problem olso....Is your OS on i686 or x86_64?
I do not speak English, but I understand...

Thanks for your reply.
My system is x86_64.
I'll play with the output a bit. I only tried x11 and gl so far.

youtube video sucks because flash for linux is a piece of crap
The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

For everyone using "older" nVidia ( < 8400 ) and intel cards, try the xvmc driver for Mplayer if it's available. It's somewhat multi-threaded so it does better decoding than xv. In my experience the gl and x11 drivers are really bad with these two hardware vendors.

Thanks,
with xvmc it's way better.
