DRI is always enabled. If you see the official package, it has --enable-dri.
Being enabled in package and actually working is not the same thing unfortunately.

It does work, believe me.

For me to get it to work I had to build the git version of drm and driver from aur. The fault was drm kernel module not making /dev/dri/ devices.

Ι had no prob here with that...

Catalyst 9.5 is out. [Download] [Release Notes]
Notes: There's still no Kernel 2.6.29 support, yet, but the patch still works.

Tested, doesn't build for 2.6.29 yet, man this guys never learn, they should skip 2.6.29 altogether since 2.6.30 will be upon us in no time, they should aim for it to build with 2.6.30 at least.
Got a considerable performance boost, on my radeon hd 3200 integrated on the laptop.
Will send to AUR in no time.

These ATi devs, such amateurs. No support on a stable kernel ....

buy nvidia!
after 5 months of catalyst woes i bought a cheapo nvidia card and - surprise - everything just worked!

Don't upgrade catalyst-utils to 9.5 ahead of catalyst. I got a hard lockup (or maybe a crash) when I restarted X after doing that just now. I was doing it remotely and it just dropped off the network. I'll see what actually happened when I get back to it on Monday.

Yeah, very sorry about that man, I thought I had uploaded both packages, but I didn't I just did, so go and try again.
Sorry for the inconveniences once more.

You might want to do a stricter version check such that what I did becomes impossible. Since the dependency of catalyst-9.4 on catalyst-utils>=9.4 allowed me to get them out of sync, I thought it was intentional to be able to upgrade separately like this.

Just to confirm - my lockup (and it was a lockup, not a crash) only happened with the bits out of sync. With them both updated, it behaves pretty much identically to 9.4 for me.
Yes, I went to my office on a Saturday to fix my machine. What a loser I am.

9.5 was suppose to be released on Friday but it got delayed until Monday, however I think that some 9.5 drivers got released before the delay.

If driver is going to be released today so what is that we are using? 9.4 number was changed to 9.5?

I found a problem with 9.5 (the driver itself, not the packaging). I have two displays set up with BigDesktop. When they go into powersave, and I wake them up again, it reverts to mirrored mode, but not until I actually move my mouse to the other screen. I'll see if amdcccle can straighten it out for me.
In any case, this justifies my fear of depending on Catalyst. I'll be ordering an nVidia card of some sort today, since those appear to work more often.

Hello!
We have 2 things in common
A I also love dbz
B We both have ati HD3200 (sort of) intergrated
I'm having tons of issues like: Fans constanlty spinning, watching hd movies is a major no no (overheating no its not my hardware), lots of screen tearing, summarized a very bad experience.
Whats your experience with ATI in general and the new catalyst drivers? Wouldn't it be nice if we could just replace our intergrated ATI with nvidia instead

<offtopic>Sure I'm a DBZ fan as well.</offtopic>
<ontopic>OK, the driver seems to have been delayed furthermore, I hope they are fixing things, cause quite honestly this driver feels like 9.4 and nothing more.</ontopic>

my xrandr is fixed in 9.5, which NEVER worked before.

Any information about 9.6? From that what I see AMD is supporting not Linux but Ubuntu. Example is kernel, 2.6.29 is not there so they are not supporting it. Sick?
