"FATAL:Module printer not found" (hp deskjet 3550 now)

Hi all,

I want to use my printer, whose drivers I dont have. I was following the guide in the wiki. At one point, it asks me to use modprobe usblp/printer (I have a usb HP deskjet 3550 printer). I cant see any output for that command.

$  modprobe printer
FATAL: Module printer not found.

Any kind of help is appreciated. Thanks smile

Re: "FATAL:Module printer not found" (hp deskjet 3550 now)

Considering that there is no driver for H505 model... I am now trying to install hp deskjet 3550, which is supported according to openprinting foundation...

If i try to run cupsd, i get:

spai ~
$  cupsd
cupsd: Child exited with status 1!

what do I do?

EDIT: As an update, I installed hp-toolbox. And my printer is identified. Now if only cupsd would work, I guess my problem should be solved
