Hi
I'm using VLC for my multimedia playing, but sometimes when I open a file to play I get the following error:
File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file
"Path to File"
But it starts to play the file and nothing seems to be wrong except for the VLC Errors log popping up. There's a "Hide future errors" checkbox on the error log window but it doesn't seem to have any affect, I still get the errors.
Any ideas why this occurs and how to get rid of the "error"?
Thanks

It is all files or only a certain one?

Doesn't seem to be any specific files but it doesn't always occur and I believe it only occurs when VLC already is running, second time you play a file etc.
I found a checkbox to set VLC to ignore minor errors, I've checked that one and no error has been shown since then, but I'm a bit curious why it gives errors in the first place.
This isn't the first time I've had this problem, I've also got it earlier on other Linux installs.

Try opening the file with vlc-wrapper rather than vlc directly to avoid the error.

Thanks, will try that when I'll get back to my computer, currently at work running Vista *sigh*
