Does your Konsole hum...?

Try setting the colour scheme for konsole to 'White on Black' [konsole -> Settings -> Edit Current Profile -> Appearance ].
Does your screen [ mine's an LCD, not sure if CRT is the same ] dim and monitor start to hum a little ?

I had this problem in Arch and Fedora 10 [ same kernel 2.6.29 ] - eventually traced it to this [the colour scheme] - after re-building the
computer to make sure it wasn't that !

I've owned many monitors, both CRT and LCD, that hum noticeably when large parts of the display are bright white.
