Dell Latitude X300 screen problem

Hello everyone, I recently installed Archlinux on my 2nd computer, a Dell Latitude X300.
Everything just works fine, the only problem atm I have is that when I close my screen over keyboard for a couple of minutes and then re-open it, it displays something very strange : http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/66/p1905092212.jpg

Please help me to solve this problem, thank you very much.

Re: Dell Latitude X300 screen problem

what driver are you using? remember you cannot use your catalyst drivers anymore with your graphics cards and xorg 1.6, you should be using the open source ati drivers instead.

it seems your screen is not being detected correctly.

Re: Dell Latitude X300 screen problem

I have something similar on my dell latitude d400.
I don't know how to fix it.
What I do when this happens is simple ctrl+alt+f1 to switch to no-x, then alt+f1 to return to x. Stoneage solution but works.
If anyone knows how to get rid of this bug permanently, I'm glad to know it too.
