Lottanzb won't download

i installed lottanzb and hellanzb from AUR. i configured my ~/.config/hellanzb.conf file.

i can run hellanzb.py fine, it downloads files and works. when i run lottanzb, in stand-alone mode it won't download anything, i can add the nzb, but the downloads will not start.

so i figured i would try it running from my hellanzb configuration, so i started the hellanzb daemon with 'hellanzb.py -D' and started up lottanzb, selected front end mode and loaded my hellanzb.conf, i get the following error:

"The Hellanzb daemon doesn't seem to be running at localhost:0."

so basically, lottanzb doesn't work in either mode. i did a forum search and one other person had this problem, and he was getting deprecation warnings, which i also get, but i don't believe this is the error.
