xvid: failed to init encoder (and where is libxvidcore.so?)

i made a new abs/local package for xvid 1.0.2 and installed it, but it doesn't install libxvidcore.so. i have .so.4 and .so.4.0, but no .so. where can i get the library?

xvid4 and ffmpeg work, but i'm getting horrible audio sync problems. it just seems to be xvid. is anyone using xvid successfully with arch? thx.

Job 'Transcoding video - title #4, pass 1' failed.

Executed command: mkdir -m 0775 -p '/mnt/hda3/dvdrip/stop_making_sense/tmp' && cd /mnt/hda3/dvdrip/stop_making_sense/tmp && dr_exec transcode -H 10 -a 0 -x vob -i /mnt/hda3/dvdrip/stop_making_sense/vob/004 -w 890 -c 4-1004 -L 201424 -b 192,0,0 -s 1.517 --a52_drc_off -V  -f 24,1 -Y 4,8,4,8 -Z 640x360 -R 1 -y xvid,null -o /dev/null --print_status 20 && echo DVDRIP_SUCCESS

Yes, it works great for me. is it possible, that you forgot the libdv package?

Btw... there is a Wiki entry on DVD Ripping, maybe it helps you? If not, reply here and I'll try to help.

Re: xvid: failed to init encoder (and where is libxvidcore.so?)

I am sure XviD has no problems with Arch. i update it often & use it successfully with Avidemux2.

why not use the arch xvidcore package? I know it used to work but i have not used it for some time as i don't rip dvds any more.
