OSS4 startup sound location

I have been trying OSS4 just to see what I think and so far no problems, but there is one thing I can't figure out.  When Arch starts, or more correctly when the oss Daemon starts, a sound plays which sounds I suppose somewhat like a laser for lack of a better description.  After a great deal of searching, both on my system itself and on the web, I can not find anything that defines what causes this sound to play, nor where it is stored.

I am hoping this is not hardcoded, because I really would like to disable it, or possibly replace it.  If anybody has any knowledge of where to find this sound, or how to change it, please let me know.  Thanks.

Re: OSS4 startup sound location

I use oss4 for some time now and don't have such sound.
You can have a look at the /usr/lib/oss/soundon.user file, maybe something in there plays the sound.
Also try sounoff and soundon to make sure it is really oss (if you hear the sound after soundon).
Maybe some other programs keep testing for the /dev/dsp file and play as soon as it exists..
