Bootchart depends on sysstat (iostat command), which isn't in the ArchLinux repositories - this is pretty weird, because it looks like a nice and powerfull Linux tool. This could even be placed in the current repository.

yeah I haven't gotten around to building it jsut yet - it has some java deps that i'm not sure of.

The only requirements for building the bootchart.jar is apache-ant and j2sdk.

I've put up a chart up at http://members.rogers.com/kpiche/ .  The system is a kernel26+syslogd+devfs+GDM system.

hmmm
the tar.gz file is created and I could use the bootchart website to  create the png file.. but the bootchar.jar file itself is not on my pc.. i have the apache-ant and j2sdk installed.. any ideas where to find bootchart.jar ?

You have to build bootchart.jar yourself using ant and java.  Change to the source dir and enter 'ant jar'.
