Hi everybody,
I´m new at this forum. I´ve been a lot of time visiting it for solving archlinux problems, but at this time I ´ve not been able to find a solution so I decided to create a post and colaborate with you. Sorry because my english is not so good.
I´m running arch on my samsung nc10 netbook, with xfce4 and slim. Everything is correct, but I have a "problem" with the sound card, it is recognised and it works with the snd-hda-intel driver, also this driver is loaded in the kernel and alsa is correctly installed, the problem is that when I boot the system another card is loaded (snd-pcsp) instead of the intel one, and sometimes the system loasds correctly the intel one, it is totally random and I don´t know how to fix the intel card as the default card. When the intel is loaded I can choose in amixer apliccation between snd-pcsp and hda-intel, but sometimes hda-intel does not appear. It´s a pitty because the other card does not play sound properly, and the intel one sounds perfectly.
Any answer?
Thanks a lot

Probably, you don't need snd-pcsp at all. So, you may disable it by adding !snd-pcsp to your MODULES list.

Thanks Mr.Cat , I'm going to check if it works. I´ll post the results.

And you may want to blacklist pcspkr too with: !pcspkr

Hi,
It works adding MODULES=(!snd-pcsp) to /etc/rc.conf, after 6 boots the intel card was loaded perfectly and snd-pcsp did not appear.
And you may want to blacklist pcspkr too with: !pcspkr
I´ll try, but the problem is fixed yet.
Thanks anyway
