I tested the new driver and got a full hang (lockup) of my system when normally the NVidia splash screen would be displayed.
Hardware:
VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NVCrush11 [GeForce2 MX Integrated Graphics] (rev b1)
(integrated w/ NFORCE chipset)
Couldn't find any useful messages in the logs.

does it there also exist or only with the package in testing
thanks for your feedback

I tested 6629-1 too and had similar problems.
Reverted to 6111-3. (I'm using kernel 2.6.9).

I used 6629-1 and -2, same results (Ctrl-Alt-Backspace is required to recover in either case). Nothing of interest in xorg log file. I will try 6111-3 tonight, if I can find it.
Thank you all for the help.

you can browse arch cvs for older pkgbuilds
the 2.6.9.patch can be found in Attic in cvs

I've also got an MX440, but is runs great , tnx

I can't get into Attic or any of the CVS (except with the web browser interface). I get a connection denied when I try to log in using:
# export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.archlinux.org:/home/cvs-arch
# touch ~/.cvspass
# cvs login

Works for me except when I try to switch to console
ctrl-alt-F2
or end my x-session. When I try to do either of those, the system hangs and I have to do hard reboot.
Nvidia claim that driver versions >=6111 fixed this console restore issue on the GF4 Ti4200 based cards, but apparently they are wrong. I'm stuck using the patched 4363 driver from minion.de
