PunBB and RSS

I am writing a program, generally, it reads feeds and prints out. So it need to check if a entry has been printed out before. The current RSS of this forum can be accessed at http://bbs.archlinux.org/extern.php?act … e&type=RSS.

A sample entry looks like:

        <title>May 2009 Screenshots</title>

It doesn't contain id, guid, or some dates entities, such as updated and published date. I check punbb's website, version 1.2.21 or earlier has same output. Begin with version 1.3, it has more complete output. The 1.3 is just months old.

My question is would this forum be upgraded recently? (if the answer is not, I have to extract the dates from description)

This forum will be switching to fluxbb, the more openly developed fork of punbb. Unfortunately, there's significant effort involved in such an upgrade, and it hasn't been undertaken at this time.

the recommended migrant release for fluxbb is also in beta. they had some weird version shenanigans a while back, but it seems the 1.4 release would be the right release to pull the trigger on, once it hits a stable release.
