My hope is to have noip2 run as soon as my laptop boots up. This way, if anyone steals my laptop, the IP address of the machine will be updated even if the individual does not log into my account.
Would there be anything wrong with adding noip2 to my daemons list? I know it would not likely cause any technical issues, but am not sure if it is bad practice.
Thanks!

I also use noip. If you have noip installed and configured, simply add
DAEMONS=(... noip ...)
to your /etc/rc.conf and it will be loaded on boot.
To start it manually do as root user:
/etc/rc.d/noip start
It's not a bad practice to add services you need in your daemons list, that's why we have it for. Of course, add trusted services there and I don't think noip has any problem.

That seems to have worked, thank you! I'm slowly beginning to understand how the daemons list works.
Thanks again!
