Sound always muted at boot

I have onboard snd-hda-intel on my laptop and it works, but the Master is always muted at boot. I even unmute and max it in alsamixer, then do "sudo alsactl store" and it saves all other mixer settings, but still it is always muted on boot.

Do you have alsa in your DEAMONS array in rc.conf? If not, add it and it should restore your settings at boot (and save them at shutdown).

Hi!

Did you try manually stopping alsa (and starting it again)? That worked for me to "manually" safe the settings when shut-down didn't work a few weeks ago.
