Multiple issues in GNOME

hi,
I am facing the following problems in gnome:
1)No system admin tools work, the contorls are all locked and running the application as root has no effect.

following are some errors i am facing:

** (users-admin:6272): CRITICAL **: Unable to lookup session information for process '6272'
GConf Error: Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1: Failed to get connection to session: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.)
** (network-admin:6286): CRITICAL **: Cannot create session bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

2)bluetooth-applet does not show, and if it does show then i cannot even configure it,using hcitool and hciconfig acknowledged the presence of the adaptor and scans properly though. yes it is configured to show when an adaptor is present. and even if sometimes it does show then it wont scan properly LOL

3)HAL is giving me lots od headache (nvm this i will submit a bug regarding it tongue )

I'm not a whiz with gnome, and you may have already seen this, but try reading through http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gnome
