Conflict with AUR and community git package...

I'd been looking at AUR and I'd like to be able to install the Arora git package.  The problem lies that arora-git has been put in community.  Sowhen I yaourt -S arora-git I get a binary version that is a couple months old.  I'd rather use the AUR version and have arora compiled.  Is there a way to do this?

Why are we having git/svn packages in community? It seems to defeat its own purpose.

Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.

Yeah, have to agree, that does seem a bit odd.  Just went and installed the version in extra which is more up to date that the arora-git package.

Just had exactly the same problem, installed arora-git and noticed it was version 0.5 but version in extra is 0.7

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: Conflict with AUR and community git package...

I have conkeror-git in community just because there are no releases (yet?). In other cases (i.e. emacs-cvs) update circles are long and the cvs versions are stable enough.

Re: Conflict with AUR and community git package...

can arora-git be removed from community? If i install using yaourt i get version 0.7.1 and if I try "yaourt -Sb" I get "No file found for arora-git"
