I've set up an emachine that has 128mb of ram and a 900mhz celeron processor to run openbox and a few other things. Really, it runs rather well, and I've only had it use swap when I'm compiling something while browsing the net with a few other things open.
Anyway, I wanted to know what games I can run on it, other than xtris, xboard, and emulators (that includes WINE). Does linux have any firstperson shooters or adventure games that can run well on such old architecture?

I don't know if it will run smoothly, but you can simply try it out :-) Download is only 40MB http://assault.cubers.net/media/
Try googling 'linux games' for starters - it will give you links to game sites such as http://happypenguin.org/.

I used to run a 700MHz PIII machine with TNT2 graphics. Cube, assaultcube, quake 2, and MAYBE quake 3 arena will run amazing on it. Also frozenbubble, and nexuiz abeit VERY SLOWLY.
Basically, use simple games, windows ports of older 3D games, or linux games a few years old. Might I also suggest Neverwinter Nights, Dosemu, and other emulated games (SNES, Genesis, NES, even PSX). Please note that I am not encouraging piracy, as all of my emulation uses are legal!

Urban Terror might work well, at least slowly. It was originally Quake 3 mod. Try it out.

Try freeciv, the free software version of probably my favorite all-time game, Civilization. Ran great on a 486, so your machine is hundreds of times too powerful for it.

If you like Hexagonal strategy games, Wesnoth is a good one I've heard about for years & it (and games like it) run very well on older computers. Quake 1-based games also will do OK.

XEvil is quite nifty, and it ran smoothly on my old 700 MHz pIII with 128 MB of RAM.
[EDIT]
The package in AUR doesn't build, so I think you have to use a dated, official build. The issue with this build, is that you can't set the keyboard controls graphically; if you want custom keyboard controls, you have to do it through the file ~/.Xresources like described somewhere on this page.

You can also try some old DOS games with DosBox.

I've been playing Lemmings for a while now
And yeah, if you want to play some good old adventure games, take a look at Dosbox and ScummVM (for LucasArts games)

dosbox is wayyyyy too slow on a computer that old/slow. Use Xdosemu instead and set it up to use Timidity/fluidsynth. I have a working setup if you need it.
