Not really..I don't like vim anyway...only thing I'm not sure about is the emacs irc..I may fallback to irssi. But I love it as an editor

Might be worth mentioning you can run terminal emulators inside emacs using M-x ansi-term

Try out xcompmgr-dana from the AUR. It fixed the issues I was having with the normal package.
I tried out,it is worse, same issues and conky issue more.
Oh. Well, I tried.

I love the color and the style of your wallpaper, but sadly not the motive
Perhaps you have a link to the artist?

I know that, but ansi-term is kinda slow. You can run vim inside emacs though, AND it even has a "vim mode" where all keys are vim's, but with all the emacs sexy . 'Tis one of the things that puzzle me. Why is everyone to turned agains emacs, if it can do EVERYTHING vim does, and a whole lot more?! Only reason I've heard was "HAHA if I want an editor that can check my email then I'll use Emacs". I ask you: what's wrong with having the choice of doing so?! It's not like you're forced to use everything it provides...

I agree, and Viper mode is on by default in my Emacs setup, although Viper mode lacks some things I really love in Vim, which is a shame and is what keeps me from using Emacs more. I actually only really use Emacs for org-mode, because org-mode is just that awesome.
Edit: I even made a little script to send my daily agenda to my phone every morning in vcal format

It all depends on how "KISS" and how close to the unix philosophy people want to be. Personally, if the app is good, I'll use it. But some people want JUST a text editor, JUST an e-mail client, etc.
People make the same complaint about KDE having things like konqueror. Who wants a file manager, browser, AND universal file viewer?
