how is mysql and mysql-clints not a dependency of akonadi? kopete works after i install both
I've added mysql to kdesupport (akonadi) deps too , it should be enough, I don't think the client is necessary
for akonadi to work..btw does it work?!

well it works now...but i installed mysql...let me remove and upgrade it
would there be a kdesupport package when 4.3 hits arch repos? seems very useful

There will be no kdesupport package... It will be compiled against the actual versions in repo...

Hi,
I just read the last pages of this thread here and I couldn't how many people asked for program x crashing and if it is related to there setup or if it is broken upstream!
To handle this in this thread here is very unclear...
I am thinking of a collaborative kde-svn status page where every one could add or remove comments about working or not working programs...
This would have saved me alot of now .kde folders
Well problem is, i am not a developer and i have no idea how to realize something like this...
Maybe someone will pick up my idea and create something like this?
Or would be twitter a useful solution?

Just thinking of a shared google calendar...? Hmmm....

Next question, is amarok compiled against libmtp from [kde-extra] or from [extra]? SHould be against [extra] I think...
Offline
@Solid1986Snake: the build server uses kde-extra/libmtp so amarok would be built against that and it's pulled from CVS trunk at Sourceforge so it should be very uptodate. The version number is old simply because it hasn't been updated. The extra/libmtp used to be too old (maybe didn't even exist) but that was 6 months ago, perhaps it's time to retire kde-extra/libmtp.
As for a better communications channel, well, maybe this thread is good enough. Anyone could post temporary comments and then remove their post entirely once the issue is attended to, if it seems short posts add too much noise. As for an informational wiki/docu page, anyone could post a new message here with content that could then be added/modified in the very first message which can be used for "documentation" with a stable URL to link to. It's a bit of a rubber band solution but this thread already exists, interested users are already signed up to this forum and with a bit of imagination it could be twisted into a crude wiki/bug-tracker. If there is enough inertia then any useful content can be transferred somewhere else more meaningful but in the mean time this thread is very convenient.
Update: actually, there is the beginnings of a wiki here -> http://gitorious.org/kde-svn-srcpkgs/pages/Home

okay, libmtp from cvs is very nice though... but it causes a lot of incompatibilitys with arch's repo... simpelst solution could be to make the version number higher than the one from [extra] because every soft that uses libmtp in archs repo needs libmtp>0.3.7 and in your repo version number is at 0.3.0*

@Solid1986Snake: kde-extra/libmtp updated to pkgver 0.3.8 for the next update.

where to the fuck I can get zipinfo to unpack zip files ?
Offline
(pkgfile is from pkgtools package)
$ pkgfile zipinfo

It looks like it's in "unzip", as one might have expected

Thanks It's works now.
However still I get when kde starts an error message that akonadi cant start because it isnt registered by d-bus. How to resolve that shit?
Offline
Spy:
Do you only get a message about the D-Bus error, or do you also get some Mysql-related error messages?
If you also get mysql error messages, you probably don't have 'mysql' installed...
Offline
I have installed mysql. Only get there errors when akonadi starts:
-Akonadi control process not registered at d-bus
-Akonadi server process not registered at d-bus
-No resource agents found
WTF?

you could try this "solution", but you should better backup the data before removing it :-)

I get some dependency problems when I want to try out gstreamer...
gstreamer0.10-good-plugins depends on taglib package and wants to delete kdesupport because it conflicts with taglib... but doesnÄt it provide taglib? I think we need some tuning here..
Offline
I don't get it, pacman -Qi kdesupport shows...
Provides : automoc4 akonadi decibel eigen phonon polkit-qt qimageblitz strigi soprano taglib taglib-extra tapioca-qt telepathy-qt
and there is the provided taglib dependency. pacman -Si gstreamer0.10-good-plugins shows that it depends on taglib>=1.5 so I tried to add the extra version part to the kdesupport provides=() line but makepkg complained. The only thing I can think of is that the conflicts=() and replaces=() lines in kde-svn/kdesupport (which are the same as the above Provides example) are either not needed or incorrect.
Any suggestions welcome -> http://github.com/markc/kde-svn/blob/ma … t/PKGBUILD

What you should do is something like this:
provides=('automoc4' [...] 'taglib=1.5' [...])

For me its constantly crashing on startup...
Some other things:
shouldn't we start to build the daily kde packages with debugging symbols? I think many users intend to check the current state of kde - svn... and they should be able to create good and helpful debug messages...
Offline
Υοu can built them with :
options = "!strip"
in PKGBUILD.
Offline
I thought I had to place this here:
-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo \
Where do I have to pout this "strip"?
Offline
In "options" array.
options (array)
This array allows you to override some of makepkg's default behavior when building packages. To set an option, just include the option name in the options array. To reverse the default behavior, place an "!" at the front of the option. Only specify the options you specifically want to override, the rest will be taken from makepkg.conf(5). NOTE: force is a special option only used in a PKGBUILD(5), do not use it unless you know what you are doing.
Strip (which is ran automatically) "strips" the package from debugging symbols. Without it, you have debugging symbols.
