Ugh, this is driving me crazy but my screen keeps going to sleep after 5 minutes. I've gone to every KDE setting for power management and disabled all power-saving options but to no avail. I'll get to watching a movie, sit down, and then the screen goes to sleep. I don't have any options in the lcd on-screen-display menu either. I'm almost 100% sure this in in Linux because when doing the same in vista i don't get it. Does this have to do with hal or dbus? These are the daemons I have going:
crond dbus gpm hal kdm network syslog-ng

Ahhhh... Doh! Ok, so, X server has built-in display power management and using the keyboard or mouse will interrupt DPM, but it looks like the DPM doesn't have the ability to recognize movement on the screen to interrupt the computer from going to sleep. Good to know, thanks Ashren. Is there a program that can do this though, that anyone hasheard of?
