cant get openGL on nvidia gf2 mx400

when trying to enable opengl mode in kde 4 desktop effects it says that there is a problem and goes back to xrender

card nvidia geforce 2 mx400 64mb agp
driver nvidia-96xx 96-43-11.4
xorg 1.6
kernel 2.6.29
all installed according to wiki

parts of xorg.conf. i tried to enable / disable most combinations of the +'d lines in modules

hey thats my own post in the kde forum

all opengl screensavers perform bad in fullscreen and take 100 % cpu
