Does anyone has a working amarok these day's, mine keeps crashing, dunno why
amarok works perfectly here (really nice scaling lyrics & wikipedia applets right now), stupid khotkeys dont work for me.

It's a bug planet!

@Solid1986Snake: kdesupport now provides taglib=1.5, is this any improvement? My amarok runs and plays mp3s but it gets pegged at 100% so I can't really use it. Try amarok --debug from a shell and that should show you the reason why it's crashing. As for debugging symbols, I tried doing that way back when (Feb 2008) but the resulting set of binary packages was about 2Gb which is beyond reasonable for me to upload or anyone to download on a daily basis. Perhaps once per stable release every 3 months or so and that was the idea of the "stable" branch of packages but they never got built. My idea was to make my build system as easy to use as possible, so anyone could build there own debug packages locally, but at the moment it (mpkg) is in a state of suspension waiting for Git smarts to be added. I'm also torn between 3 Git servers to use for the source packages, each has different advantages.
Offline
@markc: didn't change anything related to gstreamer0.10-good-plugins .... still tries to remove kdesupport... grrmllll
Furthermore i can't install amarok from archs repository, nor k3b....
Offline
@Solid1986Snake: well try pacman -Rd kdesupport then install the gstreamer plugins then re-install kdesupport again. I just now installed the gstreamer0.10-good-plugins package without a problem with kdesupport 4.3.0-2009060304 (x86_64). Perhaps you are not running the 20090603 kdesupport build or are not using the [testing] packages?
Did you try amarok from konsole? Did it give any indication why it's crashing?
Offline
Oh man, mark... sorry... didn't upgrade today "slapped"
@Maki, amarok seems to have a problem with the collection scanner and mysql... I ran amarokcollectionscanner from cmd and then amarok started....
By the way: which java package is nepomuk compiled against on x86_64? By now I it didnÄt find sesame2 backend with jre nor openjdk installed...

@Solid1986Snake: jdk / jre 6u13-1 ... btw, did the provides=(taglib=1.5) in kdesupport solve your particular upgrade problem?
Offline
Yep, solved it... many thanks!
Hmm, I think I have to go searching for the nepomuk problems....
In community there is now Version 6u14-1
could that cause porblems? Maybe your buildmachine could need an update
Did I miss that you changed the svn repo? I tried to compile kdesupport on my own, but the changes you did were not in.... last ones seem to be from 2 May....

I have some troubles with PATH & locale, could it be from KDE svn?
If it ain't broke, broke it then fix it.

@Solid1986Snake: interesting log dump, I'm not sure I can do anything with it though. It looks like akonadi is probably crashing. It might be more useful to core KDE developers as a FYI on their bug tracker. Re jdk/jre 6u14-1, update done. Re Google Code SVN repo, I'm not using it anymore and will remove it one of these days... the most uptodate source packages are at http://github.com/markc/kde-svn/tree/master but I'm likely to change them to either gitorious.org (where Qt is) or my own Git repo at git.eth-os.org. I did make a posting about it a page or two ago.
@maki: I kind of doubt it, but one never knows for sure. Have a close look in /etc/profile.d at anything called kde* or locale*.
Ah yes, looks like it's time for another qt-copy update. It's too late for tomorrow so the next update after that one.

@Solid1986Snake: a bit strange, I don't have libkdeinit4_kwrited.so or libkdeinit4_knotify4.so but an ldd of both my /usr/bin/kwrited and /usr/bin/knotify4 do not show either of those libs, and neither does my /usr/bin/kdeinit4. I dunno, maybe a strace -f startkde > /tmp/startkde.trace 2>&1 (or something similar) in ~/.xinitrc with a startx may show something useful. I only use kmail, akregator and kate these days.

Hi Mark, with new releases of pyqt and sip in testing, if you update your build machine, python kdebindings should compile again :-)

Well for me it helped to remove first all amarok config files in §USER/.kde/share... apps and config....
then i ran amarokcollectionscanner -r /path/to/your/Music/folder
after that my amarok did the job again....
if not, create a bug report......

@venky80 @Solid1986Snake
that worked for me:
be sure to launch amarokcollectionscanner -r /path/to/your/Music/folder
from .kde/share/apps/amarok directory after deleting everything
then start amarok , add the same music dir in settings --> collection -> collection folders and click apply to start the scan.
my complete collection is back again , then. any other attempt for me cause chrash during the scan.
may be adding some more dir to the collection scan can probably crash everything again, I have not tried and I don't want to for now
seems collection scanner is badly broken only with kde trunk, as others report that is working with kde 4.2.4 stable version. Amarok stable 2.1 is broken too , too bad , let's see
cheers

recopmiled kdebindings and its working now
But python plasmoids seem to be still broken... or do I need to recompile kdebase, too?
Well just tried it.... and now it works
